Impression SCDM — Alma

Need artwork? Make it with AI

You have no logo and no artwork, and you want something printed this week. Fill in the form below: it writes, for you, the description that image generators understand. Give it about fifteen minutes to get to something usable — after that, we print it on vinyl, kiss-cut, in our shop in Alma.

The prompt is prepared in English. You can adapt it to a language accepted by your chosen tool.

How to use it

Four steps, in order.

  1. Fill in the form

Use your own words, in English. The prompt is built automatically beside the form.

  2. Copy the prompt

One button, one click. Nothing to retype.

  3. Paste it into the tool

Choose one from the list above. One is enough to get started.

  4. Keep the best of four

Generate four versions before choosing. The first is rarely the one you keep.

Pitfalls to avoid

These are the issues we see most often at the workshop.

  • PNG instead of vector artwork

A PNG can work if its resolution is sufficient at the print size. For a logo, prefer a genuine SVG or EPS vector file; changing an image’s extension does not make it vector artwork.

  • Unreadable text in the image

Models can produce incorrect lettering: invented letters or distorted words. Generate the symbol alone, then add the name using a real font.

  • An overly detailed logo

A logo needs to stay recognizable at a small size. Shrink it to the size of a fingernail: if it turns into a blob, simplify it.

  • Settling on the first result too quickly

Compare several versions before choosing, taking into account the credits and cost of each generation.

  • Usage rights

Check that your plan covers commercial use, and keep the receipt. Several tools provide a free logo but reserve commercial use for a paid plan.

  • What AI alone does not protect

In Canada, copyright presupposes a human author. An image taken directly from a generator is therefore difficult to protect: someone else may produce a very similar one. If your logo is to become your brand, have a person rework it — and consider trademark registration. We are not lawyers: for an important matter, speak with one.
