Impression SCDM is a print shop in Alma, in the Lac-Saint-Jean. We print stickers, safety signs, WHMIS pictograms, dangerous goods placards and road signage — one piece at a time or a hundred.
Where the name comes from
SCDM stands for St-Cœur-de-Marie. The village is part of Alma today, but for anyone born there it is still St-Cœur-de-Marie. The shop's name is a nod to that corner of the map.
What we do differently
One piece is an order
Plenty of printers ask for 25 pieces minimum. Here, a municipality replacing one stop sign can order exactly one. That is the kind of job the big Montréal shops are not interested in, and it is exactly why we exist.
The price is worked out in front of you
None of our products has a fixed price. You pick the size, the material, the finish and the quantity, and the total recalculates with every click — before anything goes in the cart. No “starting at”, no waiting three days for a quote on a 4 in. (102 mm) sticker.
Nothing goes into production without your go-ahead
You get a proof with the cut line drawn in and the exact distance between your artwork and the blade. Until you approve it, nothing is printed. A mistake caught on screen costs a minute; the same mistake caught on a hundred pieces costs a day.
A library we built ourselves
More than 1,700 ready-to-print designs: work-zone and safety signs, vector WHMIS pictograms, TDG placards, the signs from the ministère's Répertoire, flags. Every design already carries its cut line and its reference size. You pick one, you put in your size, off it goes.
What we can print
Our press prints and cuts in the same pass, on a web up to 52 in. (1321 mm) wide. It lays down white and clear coat on top of the colours: that means we can print on clear vinyl, and on dark surfaces, without the colours going grey. The cut follows the shape of the artwork, not just a square around it.
Matte white vinyl, gloss white vinyl, economy vinyl, clear vinyl with a white underbase, printable reflective vinyl, prismatic reflective vinyl — plus cut lettering, for solid-colour letters and logos. With, if you want it, mounting on composite aluminum or coroplast so the piece arrives ready to bolt up.
